VIEW DAY
This is the day preceding the sale - a good opportunity for you to examine the lots on offer. Detailed catalogues with estimates of value will be on sale. The catalogue can also be viewed on our website and pages printed as required.
DUE DILIGENCE
ALL CUSTOMERS ARE NOW REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF IDENTITY WHEN REGISTERING
BIDDING : Registration and Identity Checks.
Commission,telephone and online bidders are required to submit proof of identity to include a photograph ( passport or photo id driving licence) and proof of current residence ( photo id driving licence or a current utility bill ). Bidders` credit or debit card details are required in advance of a sale for security checks. For security reasons these details must not be sent by e-mail. Please either telephone or fax credit or debit card information.
Bids left are not accepted as valid unless and until identity has been checked and approved.

To take part,you will need to register your contact details, either in advance or with the office at the saleroom. You will be given a card and the easiest way to make a bid is by waving this card which shows your bidding number. If you are a novice bidder do not worry - the blink of an eye will not be taken as a bid! The auctioneer will always establish whether a bid is genuine before accepting it.
BUYING ONLINE
Once you have registered online you can hear the auction as it occurs, view photographs of the lots and simply click to bid - all for an additional charge of 3% (of the hammer price)+ vat. Log on to www.the-saleroom.com to bid live are.
COMMISSION
If you are unable to attend the sale you can leave a commission bid with the auctioneer who will bid on your behalf as if you were present in the room. Don't forget that there is a buyers premium of 17.5% (+VAT) on the hammer price (the price at which the lot is knocked down).
PAYMENT & COLLECTION
Payment must be received into our account before lots are removed by cash, debit/credit card (3% charge on credit cards), cleared cheque or bank transfer. With regard to payment via online bidding with www.the-saleroom.com , please note that if payment is not received within 24 hours of the sale the Auctioneer reserves the right to take payment from the card registered with www.the-saleroom.com . We also reserve the right to request payment by bank transfer. Where payment has been made by telephone, goods will not be available for collection until three working days after.Overseas bidders need to provide card details and personal ID by fax or telephone before their bid can be accepted. Overseas bidders are required to pay by bank transfer and to cover bank charges.
Collections by couriers/carriers will only be permitted on receipt of written instructions from the registered bidder. Collections by taxi or unconfirmed other parties will be refused.
